Jim Yates is a Career Consultant with Lee Hecht Harrison. In this role, he consults and mentors clients affected by involuntary career transition and assists them in executing a successful job search campaign, including networking, resume preparation, job search communications and interviewing skills. In addition, he assists with developing lifelong career management skills.

Jim is an experienced Human Resources professional with more than 25 years as a leader in the delivery of human resources services. He has experience in a broad array of industries and has worked in both union and non-union environments. Jim has worked for such Fortune 500 companies as MCI, E*Trade Financial and Assurant. With this wide ranging experience, Jim gives a unique perspective to clients on the inner workings of corporations and how to navigate the interview process and negotiate salary.

Throughout his career he has been recognized for effective skills in career mentoring, group facilitation, organizational and leadership development, executive coaching and talent acquisition. He has developed and delivered training and conducted workshops on interviewing, resume preparation, networking and salary negotiation.

Jim received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from The University of North Carolina, Charlotte. He is active in numerous volunteer organizations centered on assisting people in career transition and job search and is on the leadership team for Crossroads Career Network.
